On the night
I cue the grand entrance, speeches, first dance and parent dances. Your must-play and do-not-play lists come first. A request that doesn't fit gets a quiet no.
I mix classics and newer music across generations. That includes tech house, afro house, Latin and Top 40. I let guests finish their move before I mix out on the one.
Who MCs your wedding?
A friend or family member who knows both sides of the family works best for intros and speeches. They can tailor them.
I handle the announcements, so that person isn't working all night. Or I take the mic all night, if you want.
The best nights have a day-of coordinator. The hardest are when I'm the DJ, the coordinator and the MC all at once.

How far ahead should I book a DJ in Ottawa?
I recommend 6 to 12 months ahead. Summer Saturdays fill quickly, but shorter notice often works, so ask about your date. Check the live calendar, then we talk it through on a short call. Talking is free, and I reply within 48 hours.

Who will DJ our wedding?
I lead your planning and play your wedding myself whenever my calendar allows. The planning call, the lists and the timeline go to whoever plays, so nothing starts over. You use the same portal either way. I tell you who plays your date when I confirm it.
What's your backup plan if equipment fails?
I bring backup laptops, mixers, speakers, mics and cables to every wedding, plus a backup drive and extra USB cards with my music. If something fails, I switch to the spare. In eight years I haven't needed the full backup. I'm set up and sound-checked before guests arrive.
How do the deposit and payments work?
Your 50% deposit holds your date. The other 50% is due 2 weeks before the wedding, and you pay however works for you. Life happens, talk to me and we sort it out. Full terms are in your contract. A call or enquiry holds nothing.
What do we need to prepare before the reception?
Send your questionnaire and final timeline early, so I can prepare crates and cue points. On our planning call we confirm must-plays, do-not-plays and speakers. Mention sound limiters or hard curfews on the first call. I also write a run sheet for me or your guest MC.
