Wedding DJ at Lago Bar & Grill, Dow's Lake

Lago is a central, plug-and-play room with unreal Dow's Lake views. Some days it runs two weddings on separate floors at once, with organized transitions, which almost no venue pulls off. The pavilion took over the footprint of the lake's original boathouse, after the 1931 building came down in 1979.

The owner works the floor hands-on. Experienced staff and bartenders manage the room, and a guest shuttle runs back and forth.

I have been on site 10+ times and have played both floors. I plan arrival around daytime parking, which tightens when boats enter or leave the dock. Before booking, confirm guest and vendor parking, your floor and a comfortable capacity with Lago.

Downstairs

The open restaurant needs sound that covers a wide room and a wall of glass. I put the dance floor where guests gather, clear of the windows.

Vista Room

Upstairs I scale the system down for warmth and angle the speakers away from glass and parallel walls to cut early reflections.

AV and transport

I connect a controller, laptop, side or fill speaker and backup mics to either floor's plug-and-play house speakers.

I confirm ceremony location, microphone moments and weather backup. House lighting usually needs no uplights, so decide whether the installed dance-floor lighting suits the mood you want.

1. Ceremony

   Lago has no dedicated ceremony room, so I confirm on-site options before booking and bring separate wireless ceremony sound.

2. Cocktail hour and room turnover

   Guests usually spread onto the balcony or a patio, either the downstairs wraparound patio or the quieter Vista Room patio. In rain, the upstairs patio and Umbrella Bar cover most of it; confirm with your coordinator.

3. Dinner

   I size sound to your booked floor.

4. Dancing

   Once tables clear, I tune the full setup for dancing.

5. Last songs

   I plan the final songs around the room's confirmed end time and sound cutoff.

The main restaurant holds up to 250 seated or about 440 standing; upstairs, the Vista Room holds up to 110 seated or around 220 for cocktails. Confirm capacity with Lago; I scale sound and lighting to your headcount.

Downstairs has over 7,000 square feet and wall-to-wall lake views. The smaller Vista Room upstairs overlooks Dow's Lake and Queen Juliana Park. I spread sound downstairs and use a smaller, warmer setup upstairs.

Yes: a seasonal wraparound patio with about 175 seats downstairs and a smaller 70-seat patio upstairs. I plan around what's open for your date.
