The layout is the best part. Ceremony, cocktails in the white tent and the barn reception are all steps apart, so nobody spends the day walking. The tent doubles as the rain backup for the ceremony and cocktails.

Tracy and the team are veterans at timing and communication. They work with me like a second day-of coordinator, even when you've hired one. Personable staff, quick bartenders, and Tracy is always good for a laugh.

The floor is built with the seating behind it, so it never looks empty, whatever the guest count, and it gets packed fast. It sounds good in there, and the podium at the top is a nice touch.

Grand entrances come around the corner, and couples get a real reaction every time. Room outside for a fire pit, a photo booth or live musicians.

Do your entrance and first dance on the dance floor, in front of the DJ, not outside, so you aren't herding guests back and forth.

Sound. The built-in system is lovely background music around the property. I bring the ceremony and dance floor systems.

Comfort. Heaters and blankets when it's cold, bug spray for guests in summer.

For vendors. Load-in is easy and there's power everywhere.

1. 1:30 PM, Load in. I'm on site two and a half hours before the ceremony. Load-in is easy and there's power everywhere, so the ceremony and dance floor systems go up without a fuss.

2. 4:00 PM, Ceremony on the lawn. The outdoor ceremony setting is lovely, and I run the ceremony sound. If it rains, the white tent takes it.

3. The white tent. Guests walk a few steps to the tent. The venue's built-in system plays background music around the property, and the bar's right there.

4. Around the corner. You come around the corner and the room reacts every time. Then the first dance, in the middle of the floor, right in front of the booth.

5. The barn floor. Seating sits behind the floor, so it never looks empty, whatever the guest count, and it gets packed fast. The podium at the top is a nice touch.

6. 11:00 PM, Subs off. Evermore's sound rule: the subwoofers go off at 11, so we plan the biggest songs before then.
