Ironstone Grill's wood walls keep the reverb down
Ironstone Grill is the main reception room at The Marshes, a post-and-beam hall under exposed wood and chandeliers that seats 90 to 150 depending on layout. Across the venue, a seated dinner wedding tops out around 135.
I tune sound for the warmer, more absorbent wood construction, which reduces the reverb compared with a marble ballroom. I aim the speakers at the floor so tables can still talk, and I plan sound and dance-floor lighting for your room and headcount.
Clubhouse guests tend to mingle before they dance, so I vary volume and songs for each part of the day: intimate ceremony sound first, then gradually more energy for cocktails and the reception. On our planning call, I confirm speaker placement and lighting for your part of the clubhouse.
Three rooms, a garden and a Brookstreet stay
The Marshes Golf Club has three rooms plus outdoor space. Jones Pub is the cocktail room, a stonework-fireplace lounge for up to 50. Garden Terrace divides into Juniper, Primrose and Buckthorn, and each room suits a wedding under 50.
The venue includes a Brookstreet Hotel overnight with breakfast for the newlyweds, discounted rooms for guests and a shuttle between the two properties. Those are venue-side details. I handle the sound and MC for the day itself, with dance-floor lighting arranged to fit your room.
Kanata and west Ottawa are within my normal coverage, so The Marshes is a regular drive with no Kanata travel surcharge. I do setup and teardown myself, and I plan the ceremony, cocktails and reception around the room you book.
