Pricing & packages.

How much does a wedding DJ cost in Ottawa?

Most Ottawa wedding DJ packages land between $1,450 and $2,800 plus HST, with a floor around $1,250 for simpler receptions. The final number moves with hours, ceremony coverage, venue size and lighting. Sean quotes firmly once he knows the shape of your day.

What is included in your wedding DJ package?

One contact for the whole night: open-format DJ, warm bilingual-friendly MC, premium sound sized to your venue, dancefloor lighting, and a planning call to lock your timeline and music. Photo booth and uplighting are available as add-ons.

Do you offer photo booth or lighting rentals?

Yes. Photo booth, 360 booth and uplighting are available and coordinated under the same contact. They can be added to your quote once Sean knows your venue and guest count.

Do I need uplighting?

Not always. Uplighting adds warmth and shape to a plain room, but many venues already have enough character. Sean will tell you honestly whether it is worth it for your space.

What payment methods do you accept?

Interac e-Transfer to [email protected] is the standard. Invoices are self-numbered and include HST where applicable.

Is the deposit refundable?

The deposit locks your date and is non-refundable, because turning away other bookings for that date is the real cost. Final payment is typically due two weeks before the wedding.

Booking & timeline.

How far in advance should I book a wedding DJ?

Six to twelve months ahead is ideal for Ottawa summer Saturdays. Shorter notice often still works, so check your date either way.

Can we meet before booking?

Yes. The booking process starts with a quick call to check your date, hear what you need and hand back a real quote. No deposit required to have that conversation.

How do I check if my date is available?

Use the date checker on the homepage or text/call 604-968-7078. Sean replies within 24 hours with a straight answer on availability.

What do you need from us before the wedding?

A completed music questionnaire, your final timeline, and a quick planning call. The earlier Sean gets these, the better he can prep crates and cue points for your night.

Music & MC.

What music genres do you play?

Open format: Top 40, hip-hop, R&B, house, tech house, afro house, Latin, reggaeton, country, throwbacks and anything else your crowd actually responds to. The set is read live, not scripted.

Do you take song requests from guests?

Sean takes requests and weighs them against your must-play and do-not-play lists. If something clashes with the plan, he politely sidesteps it and stays on course.

Can we pick every song you play?

You can, but Sean recommends leaving room to read the room. The best nights happen when he can shift with the crowd while staying inside your must-play and do-not-play lists.

Do you provide MC services?

Yes. Sean MCs in a warm, low-cheese style: grand entrance, speeches, first dance, cake cutting and any other cues on your timeline.

Do you DJ multicultural or mixed-language weddings?

Yes. Sean is comfortable reading mixed crowds and can blend English, Spanish and other genres based on your guest list. Bring the must-hear tracks and he builds them into the night.

Can you DJ our stag and doe or engagement party?

Yes. Sean DJs engagement parties, stag and does, anniversaries, birthdays, holiday parties and corporate events across Ottawa.

Gear & logistics.

Can you do both ceremony and reception?

Yes. Sean covers ceremony sound, cocktail hour music and the full reception as one continuous booking. No handoffs between vendors.

Do you travel outside Ottawa for weddings?

Yes. Sean is based in Ottawa and covers the whole region including Gatineau, Kanata, Barrhaven, Nepean, Orleans, Stittsville, Wakefield, Carleton Place, Almonte, Perth, Smiths Falls, Kemptville, Brockville, Kingston, Cornwall and destination weddings up to about two hours out.

How long do you need to set up?

Typically one to two hours depending on the rig and whether ceremony coverage is involved. Sean arrives early so he is sound-checked and calm before the first guest walks in.

Do you bring backup equipment?

Yes. Sean carries backup laptops, mixers, speakers, mics and cables to every wedding. In eight years he has never needed the full backup setup, but it is there.

What happens if you get sick or cannot make it?

For confirmed bookings, Sean has a small network of trusted Ottawa DJs he can call on. You are never left without coverage. This is discussed plainly in the contract.

How do you handle sound limits or curfews?

If your venue has a sound limiter or hard curfew, Sean plans for it from the first call. He tunes the system to keep energy on the floor without pushing the room past its limits.
