I quote each wedding on a short call, once I know your hours, venue and how much of the day is covered. Ceremony and reception coverage, venue size and any lighting additions all change the number. You get the services and the total in writing. See what moves the quote.

I include an open-format DJ, announcements on the mic, sound sized to your venue, mics and a planning call to build your timeline and music. I arrange dance floor lighting for your event and confirm it in your quote. Photo booths and uplighting are add-ons.

Yes. Print, digital and 360 video booths, plus roaming photographer, backdrops and guestbooks, arranged for your event. Uplighting is added the same way, and I quote both once I know your venue and guest count. Ask me what fits your room and I will tell you straight if you do not need it.

Not always. Uplighting adds warmth and shape to a plain room, but many venues already have enough character. I'll tell you honestly whether it is worth it for your space. It is an add-on, so it only goes in your quote if you want it.

Pay however works for you. The payment details come with my written quote, along with the agreed services and total. A 50% deposit holds your date, and the balance is due 2 weeks before the wedding. If you have a way you prefer to pay, tell me and we will sort it out.

Six to twelve months ahead is ideal for Ottawa summer Saturdays, because those go first. Shorter notice often still works, so check your date either way. Send me your date and venue and I reply within 48 hours with a yes or no.

After you book, you fill in your planning portal: names, timeline, venue details, must-play and do-not-play songs and MC plans. Then we have a short planning call. The earlier I have your answers, the better I can prep for your night. Fill in what you know and come back for the rest.

Yes. I cover ceremony sound, cocktail hour music and the full reception in one booking. The ceremony is optional, so tell me whether you want me running the sound and mics there. I quote exactly the part of the day you want covered.

Top 40, hip-hop, R&B, house, tech house, afro house, Latin, reggaeton, country, throwbacks and anything else your crowd responds to. I read the room and adjust live rather than follow a script. Tell me who is coming and I plan around that crowd.

I take requests and weigh each one against your must-play and do-not-play lists. If one clashes with the plan, I politely pass and stay on course. I treat your do-not-play list as locked, so a guest request never overrides it.

Yes, you can. I recommend leaving room to read the crowd, though. The best nights happen when I can shift with the floor while staying inside your must-play and do-not-play lists. Tell me how much freedom you want, and I follow your lead.

Yes, I can. A friend or family member who knows both families works best for intros and speeches. I handle announcements, so they are not working all night. If you want me on the mic all night, I do that too. The best nights have a day-of coordinator. More on my wedding MC page.

Yes. I'm comfortable reading mixed crowds and blend English, Spanish and other music based on your guest list. Bring your must-hear songs and I'll build them into the night. I can mix anything, I just need your help with the playlists. See my multicultural wedding DJ page.

Yes. I DJ engagement parties, stag and does, anniversaries, birthdays, holiday parties and corporate events across Ottawa. Tell me the date, the room and the crowd, and I will tell you straight if I can play it. Then I quote it on a short call, the same way I quote a wedding.

Yes. Ottawa, Gatineau and the valley are home turf, from Kanata and Orléans to Wakefield, Almonte and Perth. Farther out, like Brockville, Kingston or Cornwall, travel is built into your quote, so there is no surprise line later. Send me your venue and I will tell you how it looks.

Generally 1 to 2 hours, depending on the setup and whether ceremony coverage is involved. I'm set up and sound-checked before the first guest walks in, so nobody sees me wiring things up while they find their seats. If your ceremony and reception are in different rooms, tell me early so I plan the move.

Yes. I bring backup laptops, mixers, speakers, mics and cables to every wedding. In eight years I haven't needed the full backup, but it is there. If something fails, I switch to the spare, and most guests never notice. I would rather carry gear I never use than be one cable short on your night.

If an emergency keeps me away, a DJ I handpicked and trained covers it, and you hear it from me first. The same planning and the same portal carry over. I have never missed a wedding. The standards page has the full terms.

If your venue has a sound limiter or hard curfew, I plan for it from our first call. I tune the sound to keep the floor lively within those limits. Tell me your venue's rules early and I build the night around them, so you never get a warning mid-party.

Yes, I carry liability insurance all year, so it does not depend on the season of your wedding. Most Ottawa venues ask for proof, and I send a certificate of insurance on request. See my insurance and SOCAN page for what venues ask for.
