How fast a date can lock

A last-minute booking is mostly logistics. If the date is open, the real work is getting the plan tight on a short runway.

  1. Send your date, venue and rough guest count

Calendly, WhatsApp or the date check on the site is fine.

  2. I check my calendar

You get a clear yes or no within 48 hours.

  3. One planning call

We lock your must-plays, do-not-plays, timeline and speeches.

  4. The deposit

A 50% deposit holds the date.

No deposit is needed to talk. A call on its own does not hold the date.

What we plan in one call

You do not need a long planning process. You need the right six answers.

  • Your must-plays. Keep the list short and real.
  • Your do-not-plays. These matter just as much.
  • The timeline. Ceremony, cocktails, dinner, speeches and dances.
  • Ceremony sound. Whether I cover it, and where.
  • Who is on the mic. A friend or family member who knows both families works best for intros and speeches. I handle announcements, so they are not working all night.
  • Anything tricky. A late start, a second room or a family detail.
Your date

I keep my own calendar to a set number of weddings each year. Dates go fast, so grab a quick call and I'll tell you straight whether yours is open.

What I need from you

Send these in your first message and we can move fast.

  • Your date and your venue.
  • A rough guest count.
  • Whether you want ceremony sound too, or just dinner and dancing.
  • Start and end times, if you know them.
  • Any add-ons you want to ask about.

Uplighting is an add-on. A photo booth is quoted on request. Ask early, and I will tell you what works for your date.

Short notice or lots of time

The night is the same. The planning just runs faster.

Is a last-minute date cheaper? Not by default. Your hours, venue and add-ons set the quote. My affordable wedding DJ page shows what changes it.

Last-minute wedding DJ FAQ

Can you DJ a last-minute wedding in Ottawa?

Often yes, if I'm free on your date. Send your date, venue and rough guest count and I will check my calendar. I answer within 48 hours, with a clear yes or no. If it is a yes, one planning call gets the night ready.

How fast will you answer?

Within 48 hours. Text or WhatsApp me for the quickest reply, or use the date check on the site. I would rather give you a fast no than leave you waiting, so you can move on to your next option.

What do you need from me to start?

Three things: your date, your venue and a rough guest count. That is enough for me to check my calendar. After that we do one planning call for your must-plays, do-not-plays, timeline and who handles speeches. You can text me changes after the call.

What if you are already booked on my date?

I tell you right away, so you know before you decide. Send me your date and venue and I check my calendar. If I am booked, I say so straight, and we work out the best option for your night. Talking to me does not need a deposit. The sooner you send the date, the sooner you get a straight answer.

Does a short planning window rush the night?

No. One planning call locks the lists, the timeline and who is on the mic. I write the run sheet for the night from that call. A short runway just means we decide things faster, so the night still runs to a real plan.

Does a last-minute date cost more or less?

Not by default. Your hours, venue and add-ons set the quote, the same as any date. I give you a written quote after a short call, and it costs nothing to ask. Compare it with other quotes for the same hours and coverage.

How do I hold the date?

A 50% deposit holds the date, and you can pay however works for you. The other 50% is due 2 weeks before the wedding. The deposit locks your date and your quoted price. A call on its own does not hold it.

Can I still add uplighting or a photo booth at short notice?

Ask in your first message. Uplighting is an add-on and a photo booth is quoted on request, and I will tell you what works for your date. If something is not possible, I will say so, and we plan the night around sound and music.
